Waltham, MA, November 6, 2009—Karen Pryor Academy (KPA) is proud to announce that Michele Pouliot, 2009 World Canine Freestyle Champion, has once again achieved a perfect score of double 10's (10 points for artistic and 10 points for technical) in the World Canine Freestyle Organization (WCFO) event hosted by freestyle club Dogs Gone Dancin' in Corvallis, Oregon. Michele performed her heelwork-to-music routine "Crying" and was met with great praise. Judge Laura Ormsby called her performance "Perfection!" and said, "What an honor to watch the two of you."
Michele designed and teaches the KPA course Canine Freestyle I and the Canine Freestyle course at ClickerExpo. Michele breaks down the process of creating a winning freestyle routine into easily-understood component steps—the same steps that she uses to create her own award-winning routines. In the Canine Freestyle course, she teaches students how to train the building-block behaviors of excellent routines, how to select and integrate music that fits both the human and canine partner, and how to put it all together for a performance setting.
Michele also won the 2008 Nationals, and both the 2007 and 2008 WCFO International Pro Stars. For the years 2007 and 2008, the WCFO also awarded Michele the Attila Challenge trophies for highest artistic and technical scores.
