Aimee serves as the Training and Behavior Instructor for the Lynchburg Humane Society. She began her career in 2012 upon graduation from an intensive dog-trainer academy in Colorado. In 2013, she enrolled in and graduated with distinction from Karen Pryor Academy, earning the title Karen Pryor Academy (KPA) Certified Training Partner (CTP). Currently, Aimee is working toward a Certificate in Training and Counseling (CTC) from The Academy for Dog Trainers. In addition, Aimee is a student at Randolph College in Virginia, where she is pursuing a bachelor’s degree in psychology with a minor in biology. She is a member of the equestrian team.
As part of her continuing education, Aimee frequently attends workshops and seminars, and has received her Primary and Level 1 certification from TAGteach International, an organization promoting the optimization of instruction to aid in human learning. She has attended courses held by the Association of Zoos and Aquariums, and is currently working toward a certificate in Behavioral Husbandry, where she hopes to apply the same principles of learning to a multitude of species.
