About Me
First Name:
Linda
Last Name:
Bobot
Summary:

When I was looking into my dog's eyes one day, I realized that I could see our relationship in those eyes. In that moment, I realized that we have a responsibility to treat our dogs with kindness and respect always.

When we approach training an animal with an understanding of who they are, how they learn, and what is valuable to them, we open up a world of possibilities. When we treat each other with kindness and respect in the learning process, the benefit to everyone is beyond measure.

My goal as a trainer is to let this happen for you!

Bio:

I started as a volunteer at our local shelter in 1993 and developed an interest in the behavior problems that were causing dogs to be surrendered. Later, I became a volunteer assistant in training classes. At that time, traditional training was the method I observed.

In 1998 I became a puppy raiser for a local service dog training organization, and then started working as a trainer for several training organizations in 1999. At an APDT seminar weekend in 2000, I observed positive reinforcement training for the first time. Positive reinforcement training became the method I chose, and I continue to attend seminars to learn more about this way of training.

I started my own training business The Teacher's Pet Dog Training LLC in 2001, opening Guardian Angels Service and Therapy Dogs LLC in January of 2010. I also became a trainer at the Wisconsin Humane Society in Milwaukee, WI. In 2003, I became a Certified Professional Dog Trainer (CPDT-KA), and in January 2011 graduated from Karen Pryor Academy (KPA) as a Certified Training Partner (CTP).
