From early childhood, Dani Theule, enjoyed the opportunity to train and care for a variety of animals. She began riding horses at age four, and progressed to training and competing in a variety of horse sports for 18 years. Dani began professionally training dogs under the guidance of a professional mentor in 1974. She has maintained a regular continuing education schedule throughout the years and has completed numerous continuing education courses in the science of operant conditioning and the art of positive reinforcement marker-reward training, learning theory, ethology, psychology, and behavior analysis and modification.
Dani is a Karen Pryor Academy (KPA) Certified Training Partner (CTP) and is TAGteach certified. She is also a CCPDT Certified Professional Dog Trainer-Knowledge Assessed (#2081698), an APDT Professional Member (#70776), an AKC Canine Good Citizen and STAR Puppy Evaluator (#39208), an AKC C.L.A.S.S. Instructor, an Operation Socialization Certified Trainer, Red Cross ACLS & Pet First Aid Certified, a "Be A Tree" and Doggone Safe at Work Educational Presenter,and a Dogs & Storks Licensed Presenter. She has been a Special Contributor and many of her training articles have been published in the San Diego Union Tribune Pet Page. She also works with a Board Certified Veterinary Behaviorist implementing prescribed behavior modification therapies.
Additional professional certifications and achievements: Certified Legal Assistant, Biologist, AAP residency certified specialist in periodontics, accredited member of the American Academy of Periodontology, member of the California Dental Association and the American Dental Association, and a State of California licensed dentist and continuing education provider. Her private periodontal practice has provided patient-centered specialty care for the past 25 years.
Dani has competed in obedience, agility, and conformation with her own dogs, ranging from toy to large breed dogs. Dani lives with her family in Rancho San Diego, CA, where she also enjoys photography, archery, trap/skeet/sporting clays, hiking, cycling, horticulture, and garden railroading with her husband.
