K9 Whiz Kids Training & BehaviorDanielle “Dani” Theule is the founder and owner of K9 Whiz Kids Training & Behavior, where the focus is on cutting-edge evidence-based training and the trainers adhere to a philosophy that embraces force-free positive reinforcement-focused, marker-reward training methods—commonly referred to as "clicker training."

K9 Whiz Kids hosts the collaborative efforts of like-minded animal training and behavior professionals to provide excellence in training services to the San Diego area community. Located in beautiful Cordillera Ranch in Boerne Texas,  K9 Whiz Kids offers private in-home training, training classes, as well as professional continuing education courses, professional study clubs,  and seminar facilities.

Whether you choose private in-home, on-site training, or classes at K9 Whiz Kids, you can be assured of individualized attention to each dog-handler team. Each team enjoys the same positive approach to training in every course. Dani's goal is to help you achieve your goals and to build a healthy, mutually rewarding relationship with your dog through positive reinforcement clicker training for canine wellness, stability, and fun.


From early childhood, Dani Theule, enjoyed the opportunity to train and care for a variety of animals. She began riding horses at age four, and progressed to training and competing in a variety of horse sports for 18 years. Dani began professionally training dogs under the guidance of a professional mentor in 1974. She has maintained a regular continuing education schedule throughout the years and has completed numerous continuing education courses  in the science of operant conditioning and the art of positive reinforcement marker-reward training, learning theory, ethology, psychology, and behavior analysis and modification.

Dani is a Karen Pryor Academy (KPA) Certified Training Partner (CTP) and is TAGteach certified. She is also a CCPDT Certified Professional Dog Trainer-Knowledge Assessed (#2081698), an APDT Professional Member (#70776), an AKC Canine Good Citizen and STAR Puppy Evaluator (#39208), an AKC C.L.A.S.S. Instructor, an Operation Socialization Certified Trainer, Pet Professional Guild Pet Dog Ambassador Instructor, Red Cross ACLS & Pet First Aid Certified, a "Be A Tree" and Doggone Safe at Work Educational Presenter,and a Dogs & Storks Licensed Presenter. She has been a Special Contributor and many of her training articles have been published in the San Diego Union Tribune Pet Page.  She also works with a Board Certified Veterinary Behaviorist implementing prescribed behavior modification therapies.

Additional professional certifications and achievements: Certified Legal Assistant, Biologist, AAP residency certified specialist in periodontics,  accredited member of the American Academy of Periodontology, member of the California Dental Association and the American Dental Association, and a State of California licensed dentist (emeritus) and continuing education provider. She is now retired from her private periodontal practice which provided patient-centered specialty care for the past 25 years. As of 2018, she's gone to the dogs entirely! ...cats and horses too!

Dani has competed in obedience, agility, and conformation with her own dogs, ranging from toy to large breed dogs. Dani lives with her family in Boerne, Texas where she also enjoys photography, archery, trap/skeet/sporting clays, hiking, cycling, horticulture, and garden railroading with her husband.

Services Offered: 

Small classes provide individualized attention to each dog-handler team. Students progress at their own speed through novice to advanced low-stress small group classes, puppy classes, or private lessons.

Dani is an AKC Evaluator for Canine Good Citizen & S.T.A.R. Puppy preparation and testing, as well as an AKC C.L.A.S.S. Instructor. Dani acts as a liason to a local resort-style senior living facility and provides therapy dog services to enrich the lives of the seniors living there. She can help you assess your pet's suitability as a therapy dog. She can help you to prepare your dog to become a therapy dog— such as Canine Reading Assistance, Facility Therapy Dog, Comfort Therapy Dog, or Physical Therapy Dog.  Earning a CGC is the first step towards becoming a therapy or service team with your dog.
