I have trained dogs in agility since the mid-1990s and have competed since 1996. While I have also competed in conformation and obedience, agility is my sport. My first agility partners were my rottweilers, Willow and Wild Blue. My current partners are a Catahoula Leopard Dog/Lab mix, Streak, and three Windsprites, Cleo, Moxie, and Wink.
The sight hounds introduced me to the joy of lure coursing, so we have added that to our repertoire. I bought a lure machine and now offer lure coursing to all dogs—it's not just for sight hounds anymore.
Many of my dogs have been rescued or re-homed. They have taught me patience, courage, trust, and the power of loving, kind, and gentle training.
I worked in a research center at Binghamton University. Now that I have retired from that career, I offer private, in-home consultations and lessons and group classes. Lure coursing is offered in various locations in the Southern Tier and Central New York.
I am also a Reiki Level 2 practioner and specialize in dogs.
