Liz's love of dogs started at an early age when she walked dogs in the neighborhood because she couldn't have a dog of her own. Her interest in dog training and dog behavior started 15 years ago when she got her first GSD and looked for dog training facilities. Fortunately, she was introduced to Julie Dorsey who taught her about clicker training, shaping and making training fun for dogs and people. Julie became her mentor and she began teaching at Wiggles-n-Wags in 2008.
Liz also volunteered with ARF-IL, a foster based rescue organization, using her dog training skills to work with the rescued dogs.
Liz became a Karen Pryor Adademy Certified Training Partner (KPA-CTP) in 2014 and finds the most enjoyment working with families of rescued dogs. When A Sound Beginning prgram started in 2013, Liz was part of the initial team. The program works with shelters, rescue volunteers and new adopters to help dogs get and stay adopted. It is unlike any other dog training class and focuses on confidence and relationship building.
Liz lives in the Chicagoland area with her husband, Stan and her rescused GSD / Husky mix, Duke and Daisy, a Leonberger. She is involved in canine therapy, visiting nursing homes and libraries. She enjoys tricks, freestyle, rally, noseworks and agility with both dogs.
