About Me
First Name:
Last Name:

Paw Performance and Simply Canine Freestyle were developed from my passion for Heelwork to Music/Canine Freestyle and clicker training. Add in my desire to help others enjoy training their dogs, and we can achieve amazing things.

I discovered the Karen Pryor Academy (KPA) Dog Trainer Professional (DTP) program after attending ClickerExpo in the UK. I love to learn new things and improve my own skills. With learning in mind, I decided to apply to the course. With Archie, my Pyrenean sheepdog, as my training partner, I joined the UK program. It proved to be an exciting, fun, and valuable experience that deepened my passion for clicker training and created a desire to share the positive training with other dog owners. My goal is to inspire dog owners to experience the wonderful worlds of Canine Freestyle and clicker training.

I have been involved in dog training for many years. I started by competing in obedience and then becoming a trainer at my local club—more than 25 years ago now! I created Paw Performance six years ago when I decided to specialise in training Heelwork to Music/Canine Freestyle and clicker training. During this time, along with many other dog-training and behaviour certificates, I achieved my IABTC Approved Instructor (Distinction). More recently, the certification I'm most proud of is my Karen Pryor Academy (KPA) Certified Training Partner (CTP) with distinction status.

I am fortunate and proud to be competing at the top level of Canine Freestyle in the UK with Tyler, my Red Tri Border collie. We were the runners-up in the 2015 and 2016 Crufts Heelwork to Music Freestyle Finals! Our Crufts 2017 success means that Tyler and I have enjoyed being in the Freestyle finals three years in a row.

Archie, my 5-year old Pyrenean sheepdog, was my training partner during the Karen Pryor Academy Professional Dog Trainer course. He is also at the top level competing in Advanced Freestyle classes. Archie is my regular partner when we perform demonstrations at events such as Discover Dogs and Crufts.

As well as competing in the sport, I am a qualified Heelwork to Music/Canine Freestyle Judge.
