About Me
First Name:
Rebecca
Last Name:
Cosloy
Summary:

Rebecca Cosloy, KPA CTP, launched For Dog's Sake! to bring positive, science-based education to dogs and their families—at home and in their everyday surroundings. Rebecca loves to help families achieve success and reach their behavioral goals, whether it's potty training a new puppy or modification of fearful, reactive or aggressive behaviors that have been ongoing.

Bio:

Rebecca Cosloy, KPA CPT, shares her Massachusetts home with three clicker trained dogs, and one very tolerant clicker trained cat. Specializing in reactivity, fear, and fear-based aggression, Rebecca brings her unique perspective to training dogs, working with sensitivity and compassion. A proud graduate with distinction from the Karen Pryor Academy (KPA) Dog Training Professional program in January of 2015, she was awarded the coveted KPA CTP (Certified Training Partner) designation. Founded by behavioral biologist Karen Pryor, a pioneer of modern training, the internationally acclaimed Academy teaches positive reinforcement animal training with innovative programs designed for experienced and highly motivated trainers. The course combines online learning with hands-on instruction from some of the best teachers in the field.

In 2011, Rebecca was offered an apprenticeship under the tutelage of world-renowned behavior consultant, speaker, and author, Emma Parsons. Rebecca continued to learn from Emma Parsons and became one of Emma’s assistants in Reactive and Control Unleashed classes. Rebecca kept this role through 2014, when she enrolled in Karen Pryor Academy (with Emma Parsons as her instructor!).

Rebecca is one of just a handful of trainers in the state who are members of The Pet Professional Guild (PPG), claiming membership since its inception in 2012. The PPG is a worldwide organization for pet professionals. The Guild supports force-free philosophies as they are applicable to contact with animals and their humans. Pet Professional Guild members understand force-free to mean: no shock-, pain-, fear-, physical force-, physical molding-, or compulsion-based methods, and no compromise in the above.

When she is not working, Rebecca enjoys Agility and Nosework with her own dogs. As time allows, she volunteers with several rescue groups and training organizations.
