Bio:

Sharon Wachsler, KPA-CTP, CPDT-KA, has been training dogs to a high level of reliability and skill using positive methods since 1998.

Sharon "crossed over" to clicker training in 1998 while training her first service dog, who went on to earn a Delta Society "Service Dog Without Limits" award. Between 2000 and 2013, Sharon trained two more service dogs and continued her education in positive and effective ways to train dogs over distances, around distractions, and in diverse environments. Sharon also wrote award-winning articles on positive reinforcement training and service dog training at blogs such as After Gadget and in publications such as IAADP's Partner's Forum.

Sharon continues to increase her education on the best that dog training has to offer through apprenticeships, seminars, workshops, and constant networking with other service dog trainers and pet dog behavior consultants. In 2015, Sharon graduated with from Karen Pryor Academy's "Dog Trainer Professional Course" with distinction, earning a combined average of 99 percent on her final three assessments. Sharon continues to advance her education and expertise to be able to provide clients with the most up-to-date and effective training methods and resources possible.

Sharon lives with her Bouvier des Flandres, Barnum (now career-changed from service dog to demo dog), two moderately well-trained gerbils, and one human partner.
