Teoti Anderson is the vice president of A Dog's Best Friend in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida. A professional dog trainer for more than 21 years, she is the author of the Dog Behavior Problem Solver, DogFancy’s Ultimate Guide to Dog Training, Animal Planet’s Dogs 101 Dog Training, Puppy Care and Training, Your Outta Control Puppy,The Super Simple Guide to Housetraining, and Quick & Easy Crate Training. She also is a regular columnist for Modern Dog magazine, hosts the Get Pawsitive Results radio show on Pet Life Radio, and has appeared in Southern Living, New York Times, DogFancy, Puppies USA, Whole Dog Journal and other national publications. Teoti served on the board of directors of the Association of Professional Dog Trainers (APDT) for six years, serving as President for three years and earning the Dr. Ian Dunbar Member of the Year Award. The APDT, founded by renowned veterinarian, behaviorist and author Dr. Ian Dunbar, is the largest organization of dog trainers in the world. She is a founding member of the Carolinas Trainers Forum, a networking group of APDT trainers in North and South Carolina. She serves as a consultant on canine training and behavior for local and national dog rescue groups.
Teoti is actively involved in animal-assisted activities and therapy with Pet Partners (formerly Delta Society), an international nonprofit organization that promotes the human-animal bond. Teoti is a nationally award-winning Pet Partner and has served with two wonderful Labrador Retrievers, Cody and Logan, and a tabby cat Sebastian, who have since crossed the Rainbow Bridge. Now Papillon Finian continues the tradition as a Pet Partner, enjoying visits to patients in a variety of healthcare facilities across the Midlands.
