About Me
First Name:
Courtney
Last Name:
Grant
Summary:

Positive reinforcement dog trainer in Northern Colorado!

Bio:

Courtney has always lived with dogs. She and her new golden retriever puppy, Cooper, were first introduced to positive reinforcement dog training when Courtney was 13 years old. After their first puppy class together, Courtney was hooked. Cooper and Courtney went on to complete basic obedience classes, earn Canine Good Citizen certification, and participate in agility.

After completing college, Courtney became passionate about rescue dogs. Currently, she is a volunteer and foster family for Summit Dog Rescue based out of Boulder. All three of her household’s dogs are rescues; two are from local Colorado shelters and one is a “foster failure” through Summit Dog Rescue.

Owner and trainer of Positive Vibes Dog training (PVDT), Courtney Grant has been actively engaged in dog training and rescue for most of her life. Courtney has served in varying roles for rescue organizations throughout Northern Colorado and has fostered and adopted out a multitude of dogs. Her rescue work has offered an opportunity to experience training needs across many scenarios with varying breeds and home situations. Courtney has specific expertise in the introduction and homecoming of new dogs and new dog ownership, having developed routines and protocols to make those events easier for both the family and the newly arriving dog. She also loves working with reactive and fearful dogs, helping them learn that the world isn't a scary place. Courtney is a Certified Training Partner through Karen Pryor Academy for Animal Training & Behavior.
